To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art. —François de La Rochefoucauld
I see the body not as a
mystery to be feared, but as an infinitely wise teacher we must learn to
understand. I view the cultivation of such an understanding as a profoundly
gratifying art that requires patience and dedication, and find great joy in
empowering those I work with to master this art. I'm a straight-shooter and help my clients to find what's right for them from the often overwhelming ocean of conflicting health information out there. I base my suggestions only in peer-reviewed scientific research, not bandwagon hype (you'd be surprised what really is bandwagon hype!). My approach is practical and integral. I do not believe in rigidity or deprivation. I believe in the power, flavor, and endless possibilities of whole,
unprocessed foods. I believe eating should be not just healthy, but delicious and pleasurable. I believe everyone is unique, and true nutritional wisdom lies not in strictly adhering to a set dietary model, but in learning to listen to
our bodies’ needs and respond, based on our own ever-changing,
cause-and-effect-bound constitutions--physical, emotional, psychological,
moral, ethical and/or spiritual. Good health is about finding balance, increasing awareness, and improving quality of life--not feeling boxed in. I work closely with my clients to tailor-make healthy and savory nutritional programs that suit their lifestyles and goals.
